General Technical Editing
I offer general technical editing services for knitting patterns. Contact me to learn more about current rates and turnaround times!
Includes:
- Basic editing & proofreading for spelling and grammatical errors
- Checking math, conversions, and grading
- Verifying completeness and clarity of instructions
- Ensuring stylistic consistency throughout the pattern, checking against a style sheet if one is provided
Optional add-ons:
- Creating a style sheet if you do not already have one
- Generating or translating charts, verifying charts match written instructions
- Test knitting administrative support
- Sample knitting
Not offered:
- Pattern grading – I will check your math/spreadsheet and provide guidance for you to grade a size-inclusive pattern, but I currently do not grade patterns myself.
- Drawing schematics – I will check your schematic and measurements but I do not draw schematics myself.

Virtual Meet & Greet
For potential new clients, I offer a free 30-minute meet & greet over video chat where we can discuss your pattern, your timeline, and whether I am the right tech editor for you. If you don’t know where to start when it comes to tech editing, let’s chat!
Please note that a Meet & Greet session will not include any tech editing services. You are also under no obligation to hire me if it turns out I am not the right tech editor for you.
